A word about the Virtual WWII Museum

By B. Corman

I first met Gary when I saw some of his WWII replica guns up for sale on the Internet.   I had contacted him regarding some of his different pieces & had questions about some of the different types.  Soon after that I checked out his site, Keystone Arsenal Replicas, KAR.  What a great site with so many different offerings.  Gary’s company has an impressive wide range of different types of replica WWII firearms.  Shortly thereafter I ordered a custom M1 Paratrooper folding stock carbine to add to my collection.  Gary’s custom work is first rate! His attention to detail and extensive knowledge regarding all types of weapons is fantastic.  I have learned a great deal from him.  We have stayed in regular contact and the most important thing I can say about Gary is the level of customer service he provides to his clients.  If I need a replica firearm of whatever type, a special request or any other type of related WWII item, or just need information to better educate myself, I need go no further than Gary C. at KAR, and I would not do business with anyone else.  He has earned my business and I have become a loyal customer.  I have since ordered several more custom WWII M1 Garands.

Gary and I share the same keen interest & passion for WWII militaria and our country’s history during WWII.  My passion for this period goes back to when I was young.  I grew up when the hit show on television was “Combat”, the longest running WWII drama in television history, running from 1962 – 1967 and many top actors of the day were featured on this great show.  I have just about every WWII movie ever made from “Objective Burma” with Errol Flynn to “Saving Private Ryan” and of course like many of us, I love to watch the “Military Channel"

When I first did business with Gary I shared with him that I have been building a WWII collection for 10 years and have been fortunate enough to be able to acquire many wonderful original items from the period, from radios to binocular sets.  It’s been a labor of love. My passion is the European Theatre of Operations but I have pieces from the battles for Baatan and Corregidor, cavalry items, USMC uniforms and equipment as well as several pieces of German and Japanese equipment, many of these items are in wonderful un-issued and or mint condition.

WWII history for me strikes close to home.  My Dad was a 30 Cal. Machine Gunner attached to a rifle company and saw action in some of the worst fighting in the Pacific Theatre of Operations.  He fought at Tarawa, Pelelui and was part of the Sixth Marine Div. that saw some of the most ferocious fighting of the war on Okinowa, and, somehow he survived.  My 2 uncles also erved in Europe.

I have had the wonderful opportunity to display my collection several times over the last several years and have made a 200-picture CD slide presentation of my collection.  I’m always thrilled when I have a chance to share my collection with others and discuss the different pieces, the rarity of certain items, as well as the history of WWII.  My collection is a humble tribute to all Americans who served during WWII and especially for those who made the “Ultimate Sacrifice” They are the true heroes from, as Tom Brokaw put it “the Greatest Generation!”

Some time ago I sent a CD copy of my collection to Gary to see it and he contacted me back that he was thrilled to see all the different pieces.  Soon after this Gary contacted me and asked if I would consider allowing him to exhibit my collection on his web site. I was truly flattered and agreed.  He has added a link to his web site and offers all those who go to his site as well as all his customers a chance to see the collection.

I am truly and humbly grateful that Gary would wish to display my collection on his site and I hope that all those who see it enjoy the visual display.  It is my humble pleasure to share my collection with all of you and Gary C.,,…I just want to say; “Thanks my friend!”

Respectfully

Bill Corman
